All about LTP Files
The LTP file type is primarily associated with Latis Pro.
What is an LTP file

How to open LTP files
You need a suitable software like Latis Pro to open an LTP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your LTP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a LTP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert LTP files:
- Latis Pro
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. LTP files are often referred to as Latis Pro data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- LatisPro, CypCutFiles with the .ltp extension can represent various data formats. One prominent format is the LatisPro graph file, associated with scientific data analysis and visualization. These files utilize UTF-16 (LE) encoding. Another distinct format uses the .ltp extension for Laser Cutting Technology Parameter files, commonly employed in CypCut laser cutting software to define cutting parameters. This file format is classified as Data Files.
LTP file format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the LTP files is as follows:
The LTP file extension is not found very often and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 65% of all LTP files store the data in the UTF-16 (LE) file format. UTF-16 (LE) is an character encoding system for Unicode. UTF-16 files can be viewed in any modern text editor. These files start with the two bytes FF FE, the so called byte order mark (BOM). They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are on average 93 KB in size and range from 53 KB to 390 KB. It is a modern file type. The keywords <BLOC-COURBES TYPE="TCourbes2D">, C Nb, C0 TYPE, IDFTEXT, LESCOURBES and TCourbe2D are typical for these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to courbe, exploitation, statique, fluides, tipe, correction, experience, signal, latis, tique and avec.
- 7% of all LTP files are based on the well-known XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. LTP files are between 1 KB and 10 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: <?xml version="1.0"?>, Name, <PanelData xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">, <EnterAction / and <App>Civ6</App>. The file name DebugOptions.ltp is characteristic of these files.
All other LTP files (28%) have different formats, often, for example, LTP Nuclear ZX tape image and config. Just click the "Choose your .ltp file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your LTP file is.
Technical Data for LTP File Extension
an ltp data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with LTP files
- Associate the LTP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest LTP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Latis Pro update.
- To make sure that your LTP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .LTP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
