Opening an LVW File
The LVW file type is primarily associated with LabVIEW.
What is an LVW file?
These files capture the design of a system by laying out connections and components. They hold the data that helps LabVIEW simulate and test electronic or control systems, showing how signals flow between different parts.
To view a LVW file, you need to use LabVIEW software. Here is how you can open it:
How to open an LVW file
You need a suitable software like LabVIEW to open an LVW file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your LVW file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a LVW file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert LVW files:
- LabVIEW
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. LVW files are often referred to as LabVIEW developers because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.

LVW file format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the LVW files looks like this:
LVW is not a commonly used file extension and mainly uses a special format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 97% of all LVW files are Livewire Document files. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The file size is in the range of 2 KB to 23 KB. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. The keywords Arial and page &p of &n are typical for these files. These files are attributed to circuito, practica, esquematico, analogico, ejercicio, livewire, control, electronica, proyecto, counter, display, polones, pruebas, trabajo, clock and para, and usually contain person-related data.
The remaining 3% of all LVW files are different files with different signatures. Just click the "Choose your .lvw file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your LVW file is.
Technical Data for LVW File Extension
The following listing is compiled from the database produced by the 'Associate This!' program, selected data from the main FILExt database and file extension information submitted by users.
EXEFile: LViewPro.exe
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\LVIEWP~1\LViewPro.exe
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\New Wave Concepts\Livewire Demonstration\Livewire.exe
an lvw schematic file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with LVW files
- Associate the LVW file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open schematic files. Because only the current version supports the latest LVW file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available LabVIEW update.
- To make sure that your LVW file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .LVW file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
