LXD format details:
To find out what program is needed to open LXD files, you need to determine the file format. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the LXD files looks like this:
As a file extension, LXD isn't very common and covers different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 65% of all LXD files use the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The files are 8 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 87 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The following keywords are characteristic: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>, <LXDDocument>, <DocHeader DefaultChannel="1", HandleSeed, ExtMin X and ExtMax X. Such LXD files store data about sheet and engg.
- 8% of all LXD files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also known by the name OLE2 Compound Document Format or Composite Document File Format. Compound document files work similarly to real file systems. They contain a number of independent data streams (like files in a file system) which are organized in a hierarchy of containers (like sub-directories in a file system). The file signature of compound files is defined as D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1, so the first character of a file looks like "DOCFILE". The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are often between 3 KB and 5 KB in size. These files are attributed to layout.
The remaining 27% of all LXD files are different files with different signatures, the following 4 formats exist: CSW and xixun. You can get all the details of your LXD file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .lxd file to analyze" above.
