What is an MC3 file?

MC3 files mostly belong to WMCS. MC3 files come in several specialized forms.
For some of these files, the extension is used for the Canadian Military Message Format in secure military communication systems such as the WMCS (Canadian Military Message Handling System). They store structured messages in a proprietary format.
A nearly equal share uses an XML structure for a MaxCut cutting list that holds data for cutting optimization in industrial processes.
The remaining variants include configuration files. One type is a Microchip Configuration File associated with the MPLAB X IDE and MPLAB Code Configurator, while another is an XML-based Autodesk product config file used by MotionBuilder.

• 50% of all MC3 files use the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The file size is in the range of 9 KB to 110 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>, <ClientFax></ClientFax>, <JobDetails>, MaxCut Version, <ClientCell></ClientCell>, <ClientName></ClientName> and <ClientEmail></Cl.
