PJL format details:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the PJL files:
The PJL file extension is not common and is used by different programs with different formats. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 55% of all PJL files start with the bytes 1B 25 2D 31 32 33 34 35 58 crucial for this file format. The files are on average 88 KB in size and range from 120 bytes to 1 MB. The file type was used 20 years ago but is still in use today. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as -12345X and COMMENT.
- 7% of all PJL files start with the magic bytes @PJL , which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The files are on average 41 bytes in size and range from 37 bytes to 910 bytes. RESET.PJL is a typical file name.
All the rest of the PJL files (38%) have different formats, often, for example, tcserver. These files sometimes refer to tcserver. You can get all the details of your PJL file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .pjl file to analyze" above.
