Programs that open and convert POPX files:
- PaperPort
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. POPX files are often referred to as PaperPort compresseds because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- PaperPort (by Kofax, now Litera)A *.POPX file is a specialized archive format primarily associated with PaperPort, now owned by Litera. It acts as a container, often employing ZIP compression, to bundle multiple documents and files, typically PDFs, into a single, portable unit. This facilitates efficient organization and sharing of related documents, particularly useful in document management systems. The format's core function is to encapsulate a collection of files, preserving their individual integrity while enabling them to be treated as a single entity. While PaperPort remains the principal application associated with *.POPX, compatibility may extend to other document management and archiving software. This file format is classified as Compressed Archive.
POPX file format:
To find out what program is needed to open POPX files, you need to determine the file format. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our examination of the POPX files comes to the following conclusion:
POPX is rarely used as a file extension and mainly uses a special format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 99% of all POPX files use the ZIP format, so several files are combined and compressed into one POPX file. The included 5 to 5 files have file names such as DocumentPart.pdf, DocumentProfile.xml, OrganizerProfile.xml, UserMessages.xml and [Content_Types].xml. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. A typical file size is 4 MB. The following keywords are characteristic: OrganizerProfile.xml, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>, <OrganizerBookmark GroupByDocument=" and <OrganizerProfile OrganiserVersion="3">. Files like these are about bundle, documents, trust, exhibits, winders, statements, contract, estate, report, docs, pack and real, and frequently comprise personal data.
The remaining 1% of all POPX files are different files with different signatures. Sometimes used for counsel, attachments, investments, workpapers, evidence, property, exhibit, records, updated, village, breach, honour, tender, stage or bank. Just click the "Choose your .popx file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your POPX file is.
