What is a PXP file

PXP files mostly belong to Igor Pro by WaveMetrics. A PXP file contains the experience of "Ping of Death" Bots (PODBot) in Couter-Strike video game. A PODBot is a non-player (AI-controlled) character. It uses information stored in a PXP file to move around and perform set tasks. PXP is also the filename extension of game data used by Steam. PXP is a very widely used file extension. The file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:

55% of all PXP files start with the bytes 0B 00 00 00 34 00 00 00 10 crucial for this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The file size is in the range of 23 KB to 17 MB. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Misc_Start and Platform. The file name Experiment.pxp is typical for these files. Such files sometimes refer to ghinstaller, particle, graph, calculator, loss, analysis, data, install and figure.
15% of all PXP files use ZIP compression, that is, a PXP file includes multiple compressed files. The average file count is 1 with most PXP files containing between 1 - 90 compressed files. Customary file names are phrases.pxp. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it.
