What is a REPLAY file

REPLAY files mostly belong to League of Legends by Riot. A REPLAY file contains the recording of a gameplay sequence that is automatically or manually replayed in League of Legends, Fortnite, and Rocket League video games. A REPLAY file does not contain a video clip. Instead, it usually contains binary data which the game executes to simulate the recorded sequence. While all three games use REPLAY filename extension, these files are not necessarily saved in the same format. Another type of REPLAY file is a video project created with Replay 360 screen/webcam recording software. This video project is actually a 7Z archive with a different filename extension.

How to open REPLAY files

You need a suitable software like League of Legends to open a REPLAY file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your REPLAY file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a REPLAY file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
