What is a RIG file?

RIG files mostly belong to LightWave 3D by NewTek. Files whose filenames have RIG extension are primarily associated LightWave 3D program which stores functions for transferring IK setups and character bones in RIG files. • 30% of all RIG files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "CR2WÃ" at the beginning. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are 1 KB to 81 KB in size, with a median of 80 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: CR2W, animRig, ECookingPlatfor and cookingPlatform. A common filename is player_woman_base_deformations.rig or woman_base_deformations.rig. Such files are related to deformations, base, woman, player, female and skeleton.
