What is an RTX file?

RTX files mostly belong to WordPad. RTX files are used in several ways and do not refer to a single format.

MIDI format: These files can store music data. They hold instrument instructions and are played by MIDI software.

Rich Text Format (RTF): Some RTX files are text documents with formatting. They work with applications such as WordPad and even appear in instant messaging environments like AOL Instant Messenger.

How do you open RTX files?

You need a suitable software like WordPad to open an RTX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. RTX file format:

The file size is in the range of 2 KB to 190 KB. The keywords ansi, fonttbl, rtf1, deff0, fcharset, ansicpg1252, generator, deflangfe, fnil, deflang1033 and paperw are typical for these files. An example of a file name is Uitmelding.rtf (1).rtx or Uitmelding.rtf.rtx. These files can be linked to letter, complain, about, employment, contract, deciso and decis.
