- SEDana (Standard Test Data Format) by Salland EngineeringStandard Test Data Format is a typical file format used for storing measurement data generated by Automatic Tester Equipment. The format is developed by Teradyne and is now commonly used as a standard for tester data. Most of the testers from Credence, Agilent, LTX and others can generate this format.
STDF file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our examination of the STDF files comes to the following conclusion:
The file type with the extension 'STDF' is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 85% of all STDF files start with the magic bytes 02 00 00 0A 02 04, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. A typical file size is 970 KB. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. tester. These files are often associated with datalog, wafer, uflex, mflx, naneye, nodata, adin, corr and htol.
- 15% of all STDF files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "00 02 00 0A 01 04" at the beginning. These files contain text and words as well as binary data. The average file size is 4 MB with most files being between 22 KB and 35 MB in size. The files contain the following words: IMAGE V6.3.y2k D8 052200, IMAGE_SETUP_FDLOG, electrogl and galaxy-t. An example of a file name is demofile.stdf or lot2.stdf. Such STDF files store data about rufgb.
