What is a TPK file?

TPK files mostly belong to Tizen Studio by Tizen Project. A TPK file is an application installation package built with Tizen Studio integrated development environment and Tizen SDK. An application package contains source code, stylesheets, configuration, and metadata required to install an application on a device running Tizen operating system. 50% of all TPK files are based on the zip format, the TPK file contains a number of compressed files. Such a ZIP file contains 12 to 60 files with names like author-signature.xml, signature1.xml and tizen-manifest.xml. 20% of all TPK files have the same signature 00 00 30 B3. They consist of unreadable binary data. TPK files can be up to 6 MB in size, but are often around 660 KB - 6 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Global\GlobalTexturesPC.tpk and GLOBAL. The file name buttons-xbox.tpk or buttons-playstation.tpk is typical for these files.

All other TPK files (30%) have no uniform format, frequently e.g. zlib, certificate, SQL, MSWIM, ZZZ and JSXBIN. These files sometimes refer to large, anim, pack, effect, transform or attack.
