Opening a UCF File
The UCF file type is primarily associated with WebEx.
What is a UCF file?
How to open a UCF file
You need a suitable software like WebEx to open a UCF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your UCF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a UCF file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert UCF files:
- WebEx by Cisco
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. UCF files are often referred to as WebEx web (source)s because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Epson Printers (personal settings) by EpsonVarious printers manufactured by Epson use personal settings saved in a UCF file. This file format is classified as Settings.
- Xilinx Foundation (user constraints) by XilinxXilinx Foundation is a discontinued software for designing and fabricating avionics circuitry. This application uses a UCF file to store user constraints. This file format is classified as Data.
UCF file extension format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below you will find our evaluation of the UCF files:
The UCF file type is a very commonly used file extension and is primarily used by a single program. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 80% of all UCF files are Universal Communications Format files. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. UCF files are between 1 KB and 1 MB in size. The file type is relatively new. The following keywords are characteristic: WPDF. Examples of file names are Whiteboard.ucf. Files like these are sometimes connected to page, webinar, presentation, lesson, online, cisco, week, transformation, introduction, assessment, sentences, strategic, project, resume, slides, board, group and notes.
- 5% of all UCF files use the same file format, which have the signature ::UCFFile::. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. UCF files can be up to 3 MB in size, but are often around 27 KB - 2 MB. The keywords ::UCFFile, DeviceID=0, UUID and TYPE=13 are typical for these files. An example of a file name is PARAM.UCF. Files like these have the following tags: parameter.
The remaining 15% of all UCF files are files with no common format, such as Xilinx User Constraints File, Source and NET. They are often associated with shortcutsfile, template, config or class. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your UCF file!

a ucf meeting session media data is a special file format by Cisco and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with UCF files
- Associate the UCF file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open meeting session media data files. Because only the current version supports the latest UCF file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Cisco manufacturer website after an available WebEx update.
- To make sure that your UCF file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .UCF file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
