XLT file format:
To find out what program is needed to open XLT files, you need to determine the file format. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the XLT files looks like this:
The XLT file extension is rarely used and predominantly uses a uniform format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 85% of all XLT files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also known by the name OLE2 Compound Document Format or Composite Document File Format. This general-purpose file format provides a file-system-like structure within a file for the storage of arbitrary, application-specific streams of data. The first 8 bytes of the CFB format are D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The internal app name of XLT files is Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Macintosh Excel. There is also a globally unique identifier 00020820-0000-0000-c000-000000000046 or 00020810-0000-0000-c000-000000000046. Sections and streams in the file have names like DocumentSummaryInformation, SummaryInformation, Workbook and CompObj. The files are often between 23 KB and 790 KB in size. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. These files can be linked to biodata, template and killarney.
- 1% of all XLT files belong to IBM i Access Client Translation Table. The files are using the common file format config. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. It consists of a text-based content with a structure and syntax comprising key–value pairs for properties, and sections that organize the properties. The content also consists of readable text fragments, which can be viewed with the help of a text editor. The files are 600 bytes to 600 bytes in size, with a median of 600 bytes.
All other XLT files (14%) have no uniform format. Files like these are sometimes linked to offer. Just click the "Choose your .xlt file to view" button on this page to find out what your XLT file is.
