What is an XLT file?

XLT files mostly belong to Microsoft Excel. Excel Template (XLT) File is a file used in Microsoft Excel to store a pre-set workbook layout. It uses the Microsoft Compound file format to hold details like cell formats, formulas, and design structures.

This file lets you start new spreadsheets with a consistent layout.

How do you open XLT files?

You need a suitable software like Microsoft Excel to open an XLT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. How do you convert XLT files to XLS, XLSX, ODS, CSV, TXT, PDF, ...

Sections and streams in the file have names like DocumentSummaryInformation, SummaryInformation, Workbook and CompObj. The files are often between 23 KB and 790 KB in size. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. These files can be linked to biodata, template and killarney.
• 1% of all XLT files belong to IBM i Access Client Translation Table. The files are using the common file format config. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. It consists of a text-based content with a structure and syntax comprising key–value pairs for properties, and sections that organize the properties. The content also consists of readable text fragments, which can be viewed with the help of a text editor. The files are 600 bytes to 600 bytes in size, with a median of 600 bytes.
