To find out what program is needed to open YLD files, you need to determine the file format. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. The YLD file extension is not found very often and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The two most popular formats are as follows:

• 60% of all YLD files use the same file format, which have the signature RSC. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. • 9% of all YLD files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "9C FF" at the beginning. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. A typical file size is 1 MB. An example of a file name is 20180601.YLD.
