What is an AMF file?

AMF files mostly belong to Meshmixer by Autodesk. AMF filename extension is associated with files saved in the Additive Manufacturing File Format used to store objects for 3D printing in CAD software. A single AMF file contains one or more objects described as triangular meshes. The file also stores the geometry, color and material of these objects. These files are saved in XML format where the <amf> element is the root. The optional <constellation> element in AMF files is used to arrange multiple objects.
