What is an ATB file?

ATB files mostly belong to AnyTime Organizer Deluxe. Any Time Organizer Backup: ATB files are most often backup files created by the AnyTime Organizer Deluxe application. These files use the Microsoft Compound file format, which lets them store several data streams in a single container.
Other Uses:

ArcusTale Binary: Some ATB files serve as binary containers associated with ALTB Editor work and projects that work with Audiokinetic Wwise tools, sometimes seen with game data like that from Arc the Lad: Twilight.

AlazarTech Data: Other variants store binary data from measurement devices. These files can hold digital information, such as Rigol Oscilloscope waveforms.

How to open an ATB file

You need a suitable software like AnyTime Organizer Deluxe to open an ATB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ATB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ATB file directly in the browser:. ATB file format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. In the following you will find our evaluation of the ATB files:

ATB is not a common file extension and is used by different programs with different formats. But the following two file formats are common:

• 25% of all ATB files utilize the Microsoft Compound File format, known also as OLE2 Compound Document format or Composite Document File format. This is a complex container format used by earlier versions of Microsoft Office and other Windows programs. Compound files always start with the bytes ÐÏࡱá (hex code D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1). These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. Most of these files are 19 KB to 1 MB in size. These files are attributed to backup and time.
• 10% of all ATB files have the same signature AL. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The average file size is 1 KB with most files being between 270 bytes and 3 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as ALTB.
