What is an EASM file?

EASM files mostly belong to eDrawings by SolidWorks. EASM is the filename extension of a product assembly created by eDrawings design communication, 2D & 3D modeling program. Such an EASM file is saved in a compressed XML-based file, making it suitable for CAD data interchange between creators and users. Because eDrawings is available as a plugin, programs such as SketchUp, CATIA, and Inventor can create and open assemblies saved in EASM files.

How to open an EASM file

You need a suitable software like eDrawings to open an EASM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your EASM file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a EASM file directly in the browser:.
