Opening an FBR File
The FBR file type is primarily associated with FlashBack.
What is an FBR file?
How do you open FBR files?
You need a suitable software like FlashBack from Blueberry to open an FBR file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FBR file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FBR file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

FBR file format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the FBR files produces the following result:
FBR is a very common file type and predominantly uses a uniform format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 95% of all FBR files are Blueberry FlashBack screen Record files, which are based on the GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are 4 MB to 490 MB in size, with a median of 100 MB. It is a modern file type. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. RecorderVersion, RecorderEdition, RecordingMode, Length, MovieGuid, MPEG, BB FBExpress5 and BB FlashBack5. Files like these have the following tags: session, lecture, video, recording, training, class, presentation, install, service, course, parte and demo.
- 4% of all FBR files use the ZIP format, the FBR file contains a number of compressed files. Most often they are 41 to 268 compressed files. File names inside are always book.swf, bookContent.swf, index.html, \files\search\search1.xml, \files\thumb\1.jpg, \js\fbendscript.js and \js\swfobject.js. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. The files are often between 2 MB and 83 MB in size. The files contain the following words: book.swf, Q\jE and \A$de. The file name flipbook.fbr is characteristic of these files.
The remaining 1% of all FBR files are files with no common format. Sometimes used for predavanje, optimized, workshop, meeting, project, button, change, intro, issue, stock, aula, clip, curs, data, exam or user. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your FBR file!

How to solve problems with FBR files
- Associate the FBR file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open screen video recordings. Because only the current version supports the latest FBR file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Blueberry manufacturer website after an available FlashBack update.
- To make sure that your FBR file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .FBR file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
