What is a PTB file

PTB files mostly belong to Power Tab Editor by Brad Larsen. PTB file extension is mostly used as document file with the mime-type of application/octet-stream to store data in UTF-8 text, but may also contain binary data. However, at least one association uses this extension as a compressed format, supporting LZW, LZMA, LZ & and other Zip algorithms.

Main Use: Pro/Engineer (Now Creo), is a 3D CAD/CAM/CAE program with advanced tools for product design in business including virtual reality, metal printing, product machining, simulation, prismatic & multi-surface milling, etc. Pattern files are generated for the mesh object's appearance and contain information about the dimensions, front, top, bottom, and rear views, and the axial orientation of the object. Other Uses: ProfiCAD, a program for designing electrical circuits, stores Block Data using this extension while Power Tab, a program for creating music tablatures for stringed musical instruments that use frets, from the musical notation system. Another association is with Sage, a financial accounting program developed by the Sage Group as proprietary software. The program creates backup files in a compressed file format (ZIP), and saves them with the PTB file extension.

How to open a PTB file

You need a suitable software like Power Tab Editor to open a PTB file.
