What is an RTD file?

RTD files mostly belong to Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis. RTD files are not a single file type but can represent different kinds of data.
For example, one common use is as a container for engineering data. How to open RTD files

RTD file extension format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the RTD files:

The RTD file type is a very commonly used file extension and includes different formats for different programs. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 35% of all RTD files utilize the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. This is a complex container format used by earlier versions of Microsoft Office and other Windows programs. Header signature for the CFB format with 8-byte Hex value D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The app name of an RTD file is ROBOT. The file contains sections that are named something like RV6LST, RV6STR, RV6LST.SBI, RV6STR.002, RV6STR.003, RV6LSTATR, RV6LSTATR.SBI, RV6LSTNAM, RV6LSTNAM.SBI, RobotPreviewImage, SummaryInformation, RBEM0004 and RBSL0005. RTD files are between 770 KB and 61 MB in size. It is a modern file type. Files like these have the following tags: structure, model, robot, calcul, steel, frame, modele and projet.
• 25% of all RTD files are based on the zip format, so several files are combined and compressed into one RTD file. A typical number of included files is 1. Common included file names are document.html. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. RTD files are between 230 bytes and 5 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: document.html. The file name New.rtd is characteristic of these files. These files are often associated with xtream, hindi, iptv, recognition, personal, gesture, strings, zodics, code, guru, html, king and link.

All other RTD files (40%) have no uniform format, often e.g. RagTime Document, HPTuners / VCM data, RTDFD and Header.
