What is an XDF file

XDF files mostly belong to Kindle. XDF files are not a single type of file. Their design depends on their purpose, and you may encounter different kinds of data stored in files with this extension:

How to open XDF files

You need a suitable software like Kindle to open an XDF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. XDF is the native file format engineered for fast retrieval of columnar data. A common filename is sub-P001_ses-S001_task-Default_run-001_eeg.xdf or sub-P001_ses-S001_task-T1_run-001_eeg.xdf. Such files are related to task, rtms, sample, trial, openbci, subject, valve and data.
