File type: DVD Info File Backup

The BUP file type is primarily associated with 'DVD Info File Backup'. BUP files are just backup files of the IFO files. If the DVD player cannot read information from the VIDEO_TS.IFO, it will attempt to get the required information from this backup file. This file is required to be present on a DVD-compliant disc.

When windows gives you an error message saying that it
"Cannot open BUP files", this means either:

A. You need to identify a program that can open the file
B. Or your registry may be damaged
