Opening a COR File
The COR file type is primarily associated with GPS Pathfinder Office.
What is a COR file?
How to open a COR file
You need a suitable software like GPS Pathfinder Office to open a COR file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your COR file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a COR file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert COR files:
- GPS Pathfinder Office by ESRI
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. COR files are often referred to as GPS Pathfinder Office gis because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- CorrWare (data) by ScribnerCorrWare is an electrochemical data acquisition, analysis, and visualization software. It features a range of tools that are optimized for performing electrochemical measurements in open circuit, square wave, and potentiostatic applications. Some electrochemical data used by CorrWare are stored in COR files. This file format is classified as Data.
- GS+ (geostatistical data) by GammaDesignGS+ is a computer program for geostatistical data processing using cokriging methods. It saves some geostatistical data in COR files. This file format is no longer in use. This file format is classified as GIS.
- Insight II (output coordinate data) by Dassault SystemesInsight II is an obsolete version of a GUI-based molecular modeling software suite for gathering, analyzing, modeling, and visualizing molecular data. It also provided tools for molecular dynamics, homology modeling, and electrostatics. Some data used by Insight II were stored in COR files. This file format is classified as Data.
- posem (correction data) by Nimal Solutionsposem (professional, on-screen editorial markup) was a computer package used for screen correction markup of electronic, text-based documents. It used XML-based COR files to store correction data. The file contains both text and binary data. This file format is classified as Data.
- Web GPS Correction Server (differential corrected base and almanac measurements) by GPS to GISWeb GPS Correction Server was a web service for differentially correcting SSF (base station and almanac data files) collected by Trimble GPS receivers. Differentially corrected GPS data processed by Web GPS Correction Server were saved to COR files. This file format is classified as GIS.
- WmovieC (input data) by WmovieC Development TeamWmovieC was a molecular dynamics simulation and animation program for classic DOS and Windows 95 operating systems. The program was able to create molecular dynamics simulations from COR and RCV files. This file format is classified as Data.
COR file extension format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the COR files:
The COR file extension covers a large number of different file formats. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 20% of all COR files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "CORRW " at the beginning. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. The files are often between 19 KB and 260 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. The files contain the following words: CORRW ASCII, Time, Date, CorrWare for Windows, Windows: Version, CorrTest for Windows, Data, Version 3, default and Open Circuit.
- 10% of all COR files start with the bytes FF 00 AA 00 crucial for this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. COR files are between 16 KB and 230 KB in size. The keywords Terrasat v2, BaseLineLength and rsion 5 are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are R20180601A.COR.
All other COR files (70%) have no consistent format, frequently e.g. 42's Core War compiled program, file and Compito. The category is replay, geodetic, teste, wielomian, zapis, results, return, sample, coral or radon. If you want to find out what your COR file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
Technical Data for COR File Extension
The following listing is compiled from the database produced by the 'Associate This!' program, selected data from the main FILExt database and file extension information submitted by users.
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\Accelrys\MS Modeling 3.2\Studio\MatStudio.exe
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\GPS Pathfinder Office 2.80\pfoffice.exe %1
a cor differentially corrected GPS data is a special file format by ESRI and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with COR files
- Associate the COR file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open differentially corrected gps data files. Because only the current version supports the latest COR file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the ESRI manufacturer website after an available GPS Pathfinder Office update.
- To make sure that your COR file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .COR file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
