What is a D file?

D files mostly belong to Code::Blocks by The Code::Blocks Team. A D file contains source code written in D programming language. It contains text-encoded C-style commands which make up a program or a script. Code::Blocks may be used to create and compile a D file written in D programming language. D is also the filename extension of a program written in Dialect interpreted programming language using Dialect IDE. GNU Compiler Collection uses a D file to store source dependencies required to control the process of building executables using make utility. ChemDraw chemistry research and molecular data visualization software uses a D file to store some of its output data.

How can I open a D file?

You need a suitable software like Code::Blocks to open a D file. Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK.
