All about D Files
The D file type is primarily associated with Code::Blocks.
What is a D file?
How can I open a D file?
You need a suitable software like Code::Blocks to open a D file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your D file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a D file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

D file format details:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below you will find our evaluation of the D files:
You will often come across the D file type. This covers a large number of different file formats. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 10% of all D files use ZIP compression, multiple files are compressed and combined into one D file. Such a ZIP file contains 12 to 30 files. File names are e.g. [Content_Types].xml, \_rels\.rels, \docProps\app.xml, \docProps\core.xml, \word\_rels\document.xml.rels, \word\document.xml, \word\fontTable.xml, \word\numbering.xml, \word\settings.xml, \word\styles.xml and \word\webSettings.xml. If you'd like to see the images and files included, just rename the file extension to .zip and double-click. The files are on average 70 KB in size and range from 18 KB to 1 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. [Content_Types].xml. Such files are related to person-related data.
- 5% of all D files have the same signature 01 00 00. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. A typical file size is 2 KB. The keywords codigo are typical for these files. Such files sometimes refer to artgs.
All other D files (85%) have different formats, the following 8 formats can be found: GBG DraftMaker V6, Infinity Engine WeiDU Dialogue, PDF, DOC, RAR and build. Tagged as school, info, code, data, mstr, regiona, config or entity. If you want to find out what your D file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

How to solve problems with D files
- Associate the D file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open source codes. Because only the current version supports the latest D file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the The Code::Blocks Team manufacturer website after an available Code::Blocks update.
- To make sure that your D file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .D file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
