What is a DCL file?

DCL files mostly belong to DumpSec, Cadence Allegro. DumpSec Report Files:

Purpose: They store output from DumpSec, a tool that collects system security and permission settings.

How to open DCL files

You need a suitable software like DumpSec, Cadence Allegro to open a DCL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. DCL file format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the DCL files looks like this:

DCL is not a commonly used file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 25% of all DCL files have the same signature 10 07 02 93. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. DCL files are between 3 KB and 22 MB in size. The file type is relatively new. Such files are related to users, bsplc, groups, table, policies, usuarios, dump and report.
• 6% of all DCL files use the same file format, which have the signature DLIC0100 . These files contain text and words, not binary data. DCL files can be up to 1 KB in size, but are often around 240 bytes - 1 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as DLIC0100. A usual file name is AVLIC.DCL.
