What is a DIA file?
How to open DIA files
You need a suitable software like Dia to open a DIA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DIA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DIA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

DIA file extension format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the DIA files is as follows:
DIA is one of the most common file extensions and mainly uses a defined DIA format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 70% of all DIA files internally utilize the GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are often between 1 KB and 8 KB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. Such DIA files store data about diagram, scheme, diagrama, architecture, flow, class, database and diagramme.
- 15% of all DIA files are associated with Dia drawing files, which internally utilize the well-known XML format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The files are 31 KB to 900 KB in size, with a median of 240 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, <dia:diagram xmlns:dia="http://www.lysator.liu.se/~alla/dia/">, <dia:color val="#ffffff"/> and <dia:diagramdata><dia:attribute name="background">. Such files are related to structure, data, laravel and quiz.
All other DIA files (15%) have no uniform format, often, for example, START and DIAG. They are often associated with classes, network, flowchart, schema, model or base. Just click the "Choose your .dia file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your DIA file is.

How to solve problems with DIA files
