What is an ESB file

ESB files mostly belong to WBoard.exe. ESB files have two distinct functions. In one use, they are eBeam Meeting whiteboard files, storing meeting drawings, notes, and annotations. These files record whiteboard session data in a vector format that can be replayed or reviewed later using the WBoard.exe application from eBeam Scrapbook. For additional details, visit the e‑beam website.
In another use, ESB files serve as JBoss Enterprise Service Bus archives. They are structured as a ZIP archive that packages configuration files, service definitions, and integration assets used in JBoss ESB environments. More information can be found on the JBoss ESB page.
  • Tip: Examine the file header with a text editor to check for ZIP markers if you suspect it is an archive.
  • Tip: Use the corresponding application—WBoard.exe for eBeam files or a ZIP tool/ESB platform for JBoss files—to open and view your file.
  • How to open ESB files

You need a suitable software like WBoard.exe to open an ESB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ESB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ESB file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
