Opening an FNC File
The FNC file type is primarily associated with Vue.
What is an FNC file
How to open FNC files
You need a suitable software like Vue to open an FNC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FNC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FNC file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert FNC files:
- Vue by e-on
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. FNC files are often referred to as Vue 3d images because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Frogans Player (network certificate) by STGFrogans Player is a free, multi-platform program for browsing Frogan websites. The file extension of a certificate of a Frogan site is FNC, which is associated with the MIME type 'application/vnd.frogans.fnc'. When a user installs Frogans Player, the Frogan network is initialized on their devices through those FNC certificates. This file format is classified as Encoded.
- QuickCAM (3D CNC model) by DenfordQuickCAM is a Windows-based software application that offers 2D CAD and CAM packages used to program CNC machines and their tool paths. The data of the CNC machines are stored in FNC files. This file format is classified as CAD.
FNC format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the FNC files looks like this:
FNC is seldom used as a file extension and covers a large number of different file formats. The following file formats are most commonly found in FNC files:
- 20% of all FNC files start with the magic bytes CREATE OR REPLACE , which are always the first bytes of this file format. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The files are often between 490 bytes and 13 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as CREATE, REPLACE function, RETURN, varchar and number. Such files sometimes refer to function, verify, bill and unit.
- 10% of all FNC files start with the bytes 43 3A, which are crucial for this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. FNC files are between 22 KB and 400 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Users, Documents and FNTransfer.
All other FNC files (70%) have no uniform format, such as MAT and INVERTER. These files are often connected to coefficient, millionaire, absorption or large. If you want to find out what your FNC file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

How to solve problems with FNC files
- Associate the FNC file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open function definitions. Because only the current version supports the latest FNC file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the e-on manufacturer website after an available Vue update.
- To make sure that your FNC file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
