What is an IMX file?

IMX files mostly belong to XMind / iMindMap. IMX files serve multiple roles depending on their origin. The most common format is used for mind map data. In this usage the file is a ZIP archive that bundles the mind map structure created by iMindMap. You can open such files with mind mapping software that supports the format. How to open an IMX file

You need a suitable software like XMind / iMindMap to open an IMX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
