MIC file format details:
To view or edit MIC files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the MIC files comes to the following conclusion:
The MIC file extension is used very often and covers different formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in MIC files are:
- 45% of all MIC files start with the bytes MIC crucial for this file format. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. MIC files can be up to 6 MB in size, but are often around 3 KB - 220 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. IHDR, pHYs, gAMA, sRGB and IDATx^. These files are attributed to chat, skin, trade, background, atlas, auction, list and icons.
- 25% of all MIC files utilize the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Composite Document File format or OLE2 compound document format. This general-purpose file format provides a file-system-like structure within a file for the storage of arbitrary, application-specific streams of data. Header signature for the CFB format with 8-byte Hex value D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The file contains sections that are named something like Version, 0001.ACI, Aghhif35YxtdbqonAqkbqtgcRe, Alrx0qwjM0tdb1k4Aqkbq3kx4e, As0ncyzeA4tdbqw2AqkbqtgcRe, Commands, Palettes, 0002.ACI and 0003.ACI. The files are on average 910 KB in size and range from 140 KB to 4 MB. Such MIC files store data about logo, mckendrick, setup and park.
The remaining 30% of all MIC files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. RIFF, ZIP and Freq. Files like these are sometimes linked to scanners, algae, inventory, overlay, empty, light or base. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your MIC file!
