What is an NSZ file?

NSZ files mostly belong to Yuzu. NSZ files are mostly used as compressed Nintendo Switch game ROM files. They store game data in a smaller size by using advanced compression techniques.

How to open an NSZ file

You need a suitable software like Yuzu to open an NSZ file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NSZ file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NSZ file directly in the browser:. NSZ file format:

Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our analysis of the NSZ files produces the following result:

NSZ is a very commonly used file extension and predominantly uses a uniform format. The following file formats are most commonly found in NSZ files:

• 90% of all NSZ files belong to Nintendo Switch Submission Zipped Package. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are 130 MB to 6 GB in size, with a median of 2 GB. The file type was created recently. The following keywords are characteristic: PFS0. The following filename is common: Pokemon Sword [0100ABF008968000][v0] (9.53 GB).nsz or Pokemon Shield [01008DB008C2C000][v0] (9.53 GB).nsz. These files are often associated with pokemon, sword, super, shield, edition, mario, minecraft, dungeons and world.
• 4% of all NSZ files belong to Rumble Fighter game data archive. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 8 KB to 2 MB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. NSZ!, bFV0, ecd`i, ddsSDy and NSXSDy.
