What is a PRNX file

PRNX files mostly belong to DevExpress Reporting by DevExpress. PRNX file format is used to save data files created using the XtraReports tool included in the DevExpress Reporting Suite.

• Main Use: DevExpress Reporting Suite is used in the generation of detailed and complex reports. XtraReports is one of the many tools present in the DevExpress Reporting Suite. XtraReports uses PRNX file extension to store documents created using its printing systems component. This data is stored in the widely accepted XML format enabling the PRNX files to be used for opening, saving, closing, and distributing report files in a business environment.

How to open a PRNX file

Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. PRNX file format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file.
