What is a PZ file?

PZ files mostly belong to Panda3D by Walt Disney Imagineering. PVR filename extension is used to save video projects created with the Clipmaker and Backgrounder web apps developed by Panzoid. 2D and 3D animations created with Clipmaker are stored in a video project file that has PZ filename extension. The animation may contain scenes, objects, audio, transitions, and project configuration. Such a project file is named clipmaker_project.pz by default when downloaded to your local machine. A project created with Backgrounder is saved in background_project.pz. Panda3D, a powerful 3D game development engine stores compressed data in PZ files. The PZ files are compressed with pzip or punzip command line utility. PZ filename extension is also associated with compressed PNG files. Compressed images stored in Portable Network Graphics format are saved in PZ files.

How to open PZ files

You need a suitable software like Panda3D to open a PZ file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PZ file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PZ file directly in the browser:.
