PZ file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. In the following you will find our evaluation of the PZ files:
The PZ file extension is quite common and predominantly uses a uniform format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 90% of all PZ files internally utilize the GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are 92 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 260 KB. This file type is new and state-of-the-art. Examples of file names are clipmaker_project.pz or clipmaker_project (1).pz. Files like these have the following tags: project, clipmaker and intro.
- 3% of all PZ files internally utilize the zlib file format. Zlib is a compressed archive file format that supports several different data compression algorithms. zlib is also a crucial component of many software platforms, including Linux, macOS, and iOS. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The files are 1 KB to 2 MB in size, with a median of 250 KB. Such files sometimes refer to screenshot.
All other PZ files (7%) have no uniform format, frequently e.g. 7z. If you want to find out which format your PZ file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .pz file to analyze".
