All about TBA Files
The TBA file type is primarily associated with SQLite.
What is a TBA file
TBA files can be one of several types, depending on the software that created them.
SQLite Database / Teamcenter Bill of Assembly: This version of a TBA file stores data in a SQLite format. It is used to hold assembly or management information, sometimes labeled as a Teamcenter Bill of Assembly. For more details on SQLite databases, visit SQLite.
Rhino Plugin Installer: In some cases, the TBA file is a Windows executable used by Rhinoceros 3D. It acts as a plugin installer. Use this file with care by checking with antivirus software before running. More information is available at Rhinoceros 3D.
Haxball Tactics File: Another use for a TBA file is in gaming, where it contains tactical settings for Haxball. This file format is sometimes referred to as a TacticalBoard file format. For further insight into this usage, see Haxball.
- Check the file’s source to decide the correct application.
- If it is a database file, consider using a SQLite browser.
- If it is an executable, run security checks before launching.
- For game tactics, use the appropriate in-game editor or tactical board tool.
How do you open TBA files?
You need a suitable software like SQLite to open a TBA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TBA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TBA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert TBA files:
- SQLite
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. TBA files are often referred to as SQLite databases because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- DB/TextWorks (Database Primary Textbase Definition) by Inmagic, Inc.Inmagic TextWorks and WebPublisher PRO together provide a do-it-yourself customizable solution for information management. The identifying characters used for this association are - Hex: 54 42 41 20 30 32 30 20, ASCII: TBA.020.

TBA file extension format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the TBA files:
The TBA file extension is rarely used and includes different formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in TBA files are:
- 30% of all TBA files use the popular SQL file format. An SQL file contains a lightweight SQLite database, widely used in application development for storing application related data. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. TBA files are between 43 KB and 4 MB in size. The file type is relatively new. The files contain the following words: SQLite format 3. Examples of file names are 20180601-.tba. Files like these are sometimes connected to specification and wireharness.
- 15% of all TBA files are based on the well-known EXE file format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are on average 5 MB in size and range from 3 MB to 5 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as !This program cannot be run in DOS mode. The file name landsRhino6.tba or landsRhino7.tba is characteristic of these files. These files are often associated with visualarq.
The remaining 55% of all TBA files are different files with different signatures, the following 6 formats exist: DB/TextWorks Database Primary Textbase Definition. You can get all the details of your TBA file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .tba file to analyze" above.

a tba database file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with TBA files
- Associate the TBA file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open database files. Because only the current version supports the latest TBA file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available SQLite update.
- To make sure that your TBA file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TBA file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
