What is a TML file

TML files mostly belong to Text Editor. TML files are not a single, uniform file type. Their purpose and internal format vary by the application that created them.
For example, some TML files are used as layout and configuration files that store settings for specific applications. In one case, the file contains a JSON structure for a Touch Portal button layout (used with software from MotiveWave). In another, the file uses an XML or UTF-8 text format for what is called a Time or Technical Markup Language.
This means the extension is used in many contexts. Some common uses include:

Game Settings – Files that hold configurations for games such as Total War: Warhammer 3 or mod templates seen on sites like CurseForge.

Web Templates – TML files acting as an HTML webpage template in environments like Apache Tapestry (see Apache Tapestry).

The files are generally text based. You can view them in any plain text editor; however, to use the contents properly, you should open them with the software they were made for.

How to open TML files

You need a suitable software like Text Editor to open a TML file. The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. 10% of all TML files are based on the popular JSON file format. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data−interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. TML files are between 4 KB and 47 KB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. PRICE, false, true, studies, name, type, figures, BUTTONS and KEY_ID. Some examples of file names are CandlestickVolumeImprint.tml or (main).tml. Such files are related to volume, candlestick, imprint, daily, footprint, profile, chart, imbalance and market.
8% of all TML files are Jurassic Park files. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are often between 320 KB and 18 MB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: TML1, DDS !, DXT5 and DDSX. The following filename is common: dinos_chenini.tml or dinos_morrison_b.tml. Files like these have the following tags: dinos, hellcreek, judithriver, chenini, structures and tendaguru.
