Programs that open and convert UMDX files:
- Lucidchart
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. UMDX files are often referred to as Lucidchart data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Pigjar by Stephen RigdenPigjar is a home accounting software the development of which was abandoned. The program code is available on Github and the repository includes files with the UMDX extension.
UMDX file format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the UMDX files produces the following result:
The UMDX file extension is not found very often and mainly uses a special format. The following file formats are most commonly found in UMDX files:
- 99% of all UMDX files use ZIP compression, so several files are compressed and saved in one UMDX file. A UMDX file can contain up to 29 files (mostly 3 - 8). File names are e.g. _general.ini, 1_Sheet1.ini, 1_Sheet1.txt and printinfo.plist. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. The average file size is 6 KB with most files being between 3 KB and 65 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as _general.ini. Such files are related to flow, diagram, chart, flowchart, structure, flujo and jobs.
All other UMDX files (1%) have different formats. Just click the "Choose your .umdx file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your UMDX file is.
