What is a UNS file

UNS files mostly belong to VLC Media Player. An UNS file is not a single, uniform file type but can serve different roles depending on its origin. The most common use is as a Universal Subtitles file. In this case the file is usually a ZIP archive that contains plain text data for captions or subtitles which can be read by media players or text editors after extraction.
If the file comes from LANDI-UNS, it is a firmware update package. This form of the UNS file holds data necessary for updating device firmware using specialized update tools.

How to open a UNS file

You need a suitable software like VLC Media Player to open a UNS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
