What is a VPL file?

VPL files mostly belong to VLC Media Player. VPL files serve different roles based on the application that created them.

How to open VPL files

To view or edit VPL files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. The VPL file ending includes various formats for various programs. The file formats most commonly found in VPL files are:

• 50% of all VPL files start with the magic bytes MPLS0100, which are always the first bytes of this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. Header signature for the CFB format with 8-byte Hex value D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The file contains sections Contents and SummaryInformation. VPL files are between 430 KB and 6 MB in size. These files are often associated with viplan and entwurf, and usually contain person-related data.
