ZBF file format:
To find out what program is needed to open ZBF files, you need to determine the file format. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the ZBF files:
As a file extension, ZBF isn't very common and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in ZBF files:
- 20% of all ZBF files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "ZVFA2." at the beginning. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are 46 KB to 520 KB in size, with a median of 240 KB. This is an old file type which is rarely used today. The following keywords are characteristic: ZVFA2.00 and ZVFA2.20. The following filename is common: --- 01.ZBF or (-) [-] - 01.ZBF.
- 15% of all ZBF files start with the magic bytes 01 00 00 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 65 KB to 16 MB in size. A usual file name is Test.zbf. Such files are related to core.
The remaining 65% of all ZBF files are files with no common format, the following 6 formats exist: ZIP and ZBF. These files are often connected to zipwake, silent, fjtp, bloodbath, clubstep or wave. If you want to find out what your ZBF file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
Technical Data for ZBF File Extension
a zbf data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with ZBF files
- Associate the ZBF file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest ZBF file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Zemax OpticStudio update.
- To make sure that your ZBF file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
