All about FSL Files
The FSL file type is primarily associated with FORScan.
What is an FSL file
FORScan Live Data Log file:
This type captures live diagnostic data from vehicles. It records engine parameters and sensor readings in real time. The data is stored in a structured format that FORScan uses to help analyze vehicle performance. To get the tools for viewing and analyzing these logs, check out FORScan's official site.
Windows Executable Variant:
This form is a compiled program built with FoxPro and packaged by Omnis Studio. It runs as a standard Windows executable and contains the executable code of compiled FoxPro programs.
- Format distinction: The file either carries diagnostic log data or holds executable code.
- Usage: Use it for vehicle diagnostics in the log version or run it as a program in its executable form.
- Handling: Open log files with FORScan software; run executable versions on Windows in a secure environment.
How do you open FSL files?
You need a suitable software like FORScan to open an FSL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FSL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FSL file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert FSL files:
- FORScan
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. FSL files are often referred to as FORScan data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.

FSL format details:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the FSL files looks like this:
FSL is not a commonly used file extension and covers different formats for different programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 65% of all FSL files are FORScan Live Streaming Log files. They consist of unreadable binary data. A typical file size is 380 KB. The file type is relatively new. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as FORScan Live Streaming Log File. A common filename is LiveData_2020-06-01 10.30.fsl. Such files sometimes refer to live, data, drive and mazda.
- 20% of all FSL files are based on the popular EXE file format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are 11 KB to 100 KB in size, with a median of 41 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as This program must be run under Microsoft Windows.
The remaining 15% of all FSL files are different files with different signatures. You can get all the details of your FSL file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .fsl file to analyze" above.

an fsl Diagnostic data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with FSL files
- Associate the FSL file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open diagnostic data files. Because only the current version supports the latest FSL file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available FORScan update.
- To make sure that your FSL file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .FSL file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
