XDP file extension format:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our examination of the XDP files comes to the following conclusion:
XDP is not a common file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 65% of all XDP files are associated with XML Data Package files, which internally utilize the well-known XML format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The average file size is 49 KB with most files being between 2 KB and 350 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. APIVersion, xfa generator, timeStamp, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> and <xdp:xdp xmlns:xdp="http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/". Files like these are sometimes connected to form.
- 10% of all XDP files are based on the zip format, that is, an XDP file includes multiple compressed files. 12 to 13 compressed files with names like funcblock-xcp.fcblst, ipdevices.xmd, plc1-configfunclist.xmd, plc1-freemonilist.xmd, plc1-laddataextend.xmd, plc1-ladnodes_instlist.xmd, plc1-plcdata.xmd, plc1-plcinfo.xmd and plc1-regcomment.xmd are common. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. Most of these files are 5 KB to 15 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Q.Zq, ipdevices.xmd and xHDIu.
The remaining 25% of all XDP files are different files with different signatures, the following 3 formats exist: XML. They are often associated with application or absentee. You can get all the details of your XDP file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .xdp file to view" above.

an xdp data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with XDP files
- Associate the XDP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest XDP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Adobe LiveCycle Designer update.
- To make sure that your XDP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .XDP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
