What is a BL file?

BL files mostly belong to CryEngine Sandbox Editor. BL files are not a single, universal format. They refer to different kinds of files depending on the software that created them.
For example, one type is used as a game asset bundle in titles like Far Cry 6. These files package game resources such as graphics, models, and scripts for use with the CryEngine Sandbox Editor.

How to open a BL file

You need a suitable software like CryEngine Sandbox Editor to open a BL file. BL file extension format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Below you will find our evaluation of the BL files:

BL is not a commonly used file extension and includes many different file formats. But the following two file formats are common:

• 15% of all BL files start with the bytes C:\ crucial for this file format. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The files are on average 510 bytes in size and range from 69 bytes to 1 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. RESET and Data.
