What is a DLT file?

DLT files mostly belong to DLT-Viewer. Automotive Diagnostic Logs: DLT files are used mainly as diagnostic log and trace files in the automotive field, storing system data that helps in testing and repair. These files are usually viewed with tools like DLT-Viewer.

How to open a DLT file

DLT file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". An DLT file includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in DLT files:

• 60% of all DLT files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "DLT" at the beginning. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data.
