What is a JPM file

JPM files mostly belong to OpenJPEG. Your JPM file may be one of several specialized data types.
  • JPEG 2000 Image: Some JPM files store image data using the JPEG 2000 format. This format supports both lossless and lossy compression and is used where detailed image quality matters. You can use tools like OpenJPEG to open or convert these files.
  • Minecraft Java Model: Other JPM files use a JSON structure to hold model data for Minecraft. These files describe geometry and textures for game elements. Programs such as Blockbench or Cubik Studio are built to work with this kind of file.
  • SAP Crystal Reports: At times, the JPM extension identifies Microsoft Compound files that contain report definitions or spreadsheet data, used in environments like Jet Reports. More details can be found via SAP.
  • Label or Metadata Images: A few JPM files are used by label printers or store JPEG images with embedded metadata, managed by software like Adobe Photoshop or JPEGView.
  • FilExt.com tip: Each variant follows its own internal structure. Understanding the file’s header and context is key to selecting the right application for viewing or editing your JPM file.

    JPM file format:

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the JPM files:

The JPM file extension is used by different programs with different formats. The following file formats are most commonly found in JPM files:
