• 5% of all H3D files start with the bytes P3DD , which are crucial for this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are 2 MB to 25 MB in size, with a median of 25 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. P3DD. Examples of file names are 20180601.h3d.
