Opening PXD Files
The PXD file type is primarily associated with Pixlr.
What is a PXD file?
How to open PXD files
You need a suitable software like Pixlr to open a PXD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PXD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PXD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert PXD files:
- Pixlr by Inmagine
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. PXD files are often referred to as Pixlr raster images because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Pixelmator Pro (layered image) by Pixelmator TeamPixelmator Pro is a professional photo editor and design software for creating raster graphics and vector graphics designs. It uses a proprietary PXD format to save layered images. This file format is classified as Raster Image.
- ProxyDesigner (design) by ProxySourceProxyDesigner is a discontinued design software that used the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to visualize the design of a system. Its PXD file contained a UML design and associated symbol libraries. This file format is classified as CAD.
- PXLab (experiment design) by Hans IrtelPXLab is a toolkit comprising Java applications and classes used to perform psychological experiments. Experiment designs created with PXLab are stored in PXD files. This toolkit appears to have been discontinued. This file format is classified as Data.
- Sublime (definitions or declarations) by SublimeSublime is a multi-platform code editor with intellisense support and build tools optimized for writing scripts in various programming languages. PXD files containing Python module definitions and declarations used to compile Python scripts to C scripts via Pyrex or Cython can be opened and edited with Sublime. This file format is classified as Developer. Related links: pxd files
- Techno (data) by eJayTechno is a music composition software with 5 virtual instruments, a 48-track sound mixer, and over 10,000 royalty-free techno sound samples. Some data used by this program is stored in PXD files. This file format is classified as Audio.
PXD file format details:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the PXD files:
The PXD file type is a very commonly used file extension and includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 65% of all PXD files are using the well-known zlib file format to store the data. Zlib is a compressed archive file format that supports several different data compression algorithms. zlib is also a crucial component of many software platforms, including Linux, macOS, and iOS. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. PXD files can be up to 36 MB in size, but are often around 110 KB - 12 MB. The file type was created recently. These files are attributed to template, image, banner, edited, logo, thumbnail, pixlr and page.
- 6% of all PXD files are based on the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The average file size is 29 KB with most files being between 5 KB and 75 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as DTD SVG 1, PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD, DOCTYPE svg PUBLIC, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>, title, <pxd paper-type="a4", hidden, http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-SVG-20010904/DTD/svg10.dtd, orientation and page type. These files are often associated with detail and bill.
All other PXD files (29%) have different formats, often, for example, Pxlab experiment Design, GZIP, ZIP, Copyright, cdef and from. Tagged as detail, bill, back, front, background, gltexture, landing, design, strahd, curse, pedal, press, style, drag, icon, into, open, plan or tree. If you want to find out which format your PXD file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .pxd file to analyze".
Technical Data for PXD File Extension
a pxd layered image is a special file format by Inmagine and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with PXD files
- Associate the PXD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open layered images. Because only the current version supports the latest PXD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Inmagine manufacturer website after an available Pixlr update.
- To make sure that your PXD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .PXD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
